Goodies!
Well I’ve been mighty quiet lately (some of you might not know that BikeSkirt is actually two ladies). I’ve been a little…distracted lately.
But you know what cures even the most extreme of problems? SHOPPING! While I haven’t bought my newest bike yet (still planning on getting a Soma one day), I purchased a gem I’ve had my eye on forever after receiving my first paycheck.

Balkantango is a company based out of Hungary that makes bags out of recycled materials, such as bike tubes and old “advertising tarp”. This is not necessarily unique (green guru does a great job here in the states), but few do it with such brilliant design and serious style.
I got the “beograd belt bag”, which might seem like a glorified fanny pack to some, but I love love love it and can’t wait to get it in the mail. Yay!
You can find balkantango’s work for sale along with other brilliant products straight from the designers at the Supermarket.
(I swear this is not a paid advertisement, no matter how much it sounds like one)

I look forward to hearing a ride report, on both cold and warmer days (that rubber looks like it might encourage extra local sweating).
It DOES look very nice, however. I figure they must be good – their marketing and website design certainly aren’t the selling points. You could actually get a complete set of inner tube luggage!
hooray for first paychecks!!
